Intimidation

All forms of intimidation are ominous and require courage. Too often we avoid circumstances which delay or deny victory. Today as we battle the Covid-19 pandemic and America’s season of political upheaval, looting and burning of our cities and the lawlessness throughout our republic, we must overcome our tendency to avoid conflict.

In the words of Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” We must not let this happen.

Stand up for America, for FREEDOM, LIBERTY, and JUSTICE FOR ALL. We must defend our CONSTITUTION, the freedom OF SPEECH and RELIGION. The right to keep and BEAR ARMS.

Wake up. We must not slumber while our republic crumbles. What can one do? Begin with yourself. Take one small step. Learn to stand tall in the face of intimidation. Think of the last time you confronted a difficult situation or task. Stop avoiding it or you’ll end up with stress and sleepless nights. At the very least, you’ll lose a gift, or blessing.

For me, I recently tackled a project I’d avoided for months—USEING A LAPTOP.

Routine for most but my nemesis. I love my desktop with large screen and side lights… but it’s not mobile. So, with magnification and voice added, I survived a tutorial. Learned where to turn it on, plug in the cord, add a thumb drive, and how to access my system, not hubby’s. Still, I avoided it like a pandemic. I found talking books more entertaining, but the guilt loomed large.

A few weeks later determined to overcome, I sat at the table in our camper and set out the ‘thing’. I sat on the bench seat… too low. Got pillows. Moved the case searching for better light… moved it back. I blew out a deep breath and began to write the first draft of this blog.

After much difficulty—limited vision, new keyboard, magnification jumping from 150 to 300, cursor jumping lines—four paragraphs, and three hours later, I closed the top. Now ready for a desktop edit, I’d pushed the snail across the finish line.

In retrospect, I love our camper excursions and being with my deer hunter hubby. Now, thanks to this stressful TRIAL I can write blog posts and work on The Sheepfold, sequel to the Last Useless Journey series, here as well as at home.

Update: The above issues resulted from my palm skimming too close to the built-in mouse pad as I used a remote mouse.

The moral of this story—drum roll, please…

If I can overcome one intimidating circumstance, you can, too!

Take a simple step. Select your project today. Pray. Muster courage and begin. God will see you through for with Him all things are possible. Practice makes perfect. Stand up for yourself, and soon you’ll be standing up for AMERICA.
