The Soil of Your Heart

As our children and grandchildren begin a new school year, we pray for their safety and academic success. So…this season is a perfect time to reflect on our own scholarly attributes. The soil of our heart, a guest blog by Penny MacPherson, author and inspired messianic believer, sets the stage for our October blog series on the Parable of the Sower.

Setting the Scene:

Whether we realize it or not, each of us is characterized by where the seed is sown. Where will the seed land and what does that say about where we stand? Scholarly students have a strategic learning plan in place. It looks something like this:

Applying Heart to Know Avi-Yah, Yeshua, and Holy Spirit

Objective: To draw nearer to Avi-Yah, Yeshua, and Holy Spirit

School Supplies: Praise and Worship Music, Textbook –Bible, Writing Tools, Prayer List, Interactive Journal.

Procedure: Quiet self. Fix focus on inner voice of Holy Spirit. Tune into Holy Spirit. Write thought flow as by dictation. Reflect on it and pray it back to Him.

Assessment: Make time each day. Apply Scripture to life. Evaluate outcome.

Other students come unprepared. they come to school without knowing their goal or why they’re there. They haven’t shopped for school supplies. They make choices to skip school and blow off tests. Each day, we choose. What will we hear on Graduation Day?

Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. … Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.

Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. … Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me. Matthew 25: 34, 40, 41, 45 OJB

Exhortation:

Let’s apply our hearts to respond with a fresh burst of zeal and intentional commitment.

Popcorn Prayer:

Take what we offer You and multiply it…
